O’Neill means business
By: Martini Extra Dry | August 12th, 2008
Martin O’Neill has made so many signings this season that no-one even seems to be able to keep count! You read one paper and they miss out Davies and then another forgets Guzan and they also miss out some of the leavers too.
So here’s a full run down of who’s going in and out of Villa Park this summer:

Reported fee: £7.8 million
Position: Central Defence
Luke Young

Position: Right-back
Nicky Shorey

Reported fee: £3.5 million
Position: Left-back
Brad Guzan

It seems to be a case of out with the old and in with the new for Villa this season. So what do you think of the changes?

its a good bit of business, Sorensen, Moore and Berger had little bearing on the success of last season, Mellberg’s departure is the only one that will really be felt. And the players coming in fill in voids that needed to be filled, which is in the back, we had a healthy goal rate, but weren’t great in the back, which i think MON has done a good job of addressing, the jobs not done, but it takes patience and he’s done an excellent job thus far, given his track record, he deserves the time to fill in the rest of the squad (especially right wing)
