Got Your Number!

Aston Villa have announced the squad numbers for the upcoming seasons, giving us an official squad of 22 players, still very small compared to many Premiership teams. This number includes 3 goalkeepers so we still don’t even have a full team of back ups. The 22 also includes Gareth Barry, who seems very unlikely to make any more appearances for us.

It seems to have all gone quiet on the transfer front, but with the transfer window closing date growing ever closer it is hoped that Martin O’Neill is working away behind the scenes.

The official squad, with numbers, is as follows:

Its still a pretty slim squad and you can’t help but fear that a few injuries will leave us majorly in the lurch, with most of the stand by players very inexperienced at Premiership level.

Transfer speculation has linked us with Luke Young of Middlesborough, which would certainly help to bolster but isn’t going to complete the package.
