Games, games and more games

After just three matches of the Premiership, the flow was interrupted by an international break, but now the club games are back on and they are coming thick and fast for Aston Villa.

Monday evening saw us travel to London to defeat Spurs 2-1 in the league, soon followed by our journey to Bulgaria for the UEFA Cup victory over Litex Lovech, but it doesn’t stop there. On Sunday morning we face the short trip across the black country to West Brom, then it’s League Cup action on Wednesday as we entertain QPR. After that it’s two more home matches, first Sunderland in the league then the return leg against Litex in the UEFA Cup. Finally, the Sunday after that we travel to Stamford Bridge to show Chelsea how to play.

Other than the Sunderland game, all the games are 3 days apart, making a knackering total of 7 games in 3 weeks, with the most daunting game of them all at the end of this run. Villa have a much stronger squad this season, with more depth which will hopefully make us able to cope with this gruelling schedule but let’s see how they’re all looking come the Chelsea game.
