No Ashley Young? No effing Ashley Young in your competitive England squad?! Am I watching a different sport to you or what? The guy is awesome. What more does he need to do to get recognition? Oh hang on… I know the answer to that question. It’s the same old story as every England manager, HE NEEDS TO JOIN A TOP FOUR SIDE!!!

Come on, you tell me… am I just being bitter here or do Villans constantly get ignored by England managers? How long did it take for Gareth Barry to eventually get back in the England squad? And even then he only got his chance because injuries forced McLaren to play him.

Now I won’t bore you by reiterating the opinion I hold that Ashley Young pisses all over Stewart Downing but what I will say is this; Ashley Young pisses all over every English winger except for Joe Cole.

I’ll still be there next week, cheering England on, but I will definitely be moaning about Capello’s ‘McLaren II’ management afterwards.

  Ha, Rob was about to say the same thing. Still, Ashley definitely should be in the team — probably in the starting XI. I’m sercretly hoping Chelsea lodges a 25mil bid before the end of the window.

  Thats true Rob, and fair play to Jimmy Bullard. He’s a good player and he works hard so he definitely deserves his chance. It’s the constant re-selecting of players who don’t (or can’t be arsed to) perform for England that gets to me.

  And good idea Jack, if Young was to become involved in a big story on the back pages of the Sun he’d suddenly find himself with automatic England selection.

  You try not to believe all the conspiracy theories but sometimes these England managers make it hard not to be cynical.

  look at it this way, he won’t be knackered from playing in matches in the national team, and Villa need him to play each and every week in the EPL, because it’ll be long balls to Carew all day without him.
