Up The Villa!!!
By: DJ Cuts | April 20th, 2007
The concrete Jungle that is Birmingham City Centre is as busy as ever with its diversity of people, all going about their Daily business. It is unusually hot for the time of year, historically you could expect snow but I came to work this morning in a T-shirt. (not JUST a t-shirt, that would be silly! I have jeans on too….). I arrived at New Street station at 8am, the usual bustle of people has begun and I stop off at Tesco’s to get a couple of chocolate croissants for breakfast. I make my way to work walking past the many construction projects that hamper the streets as of late with their scaffolding and chain smoking workers. After arriving at the office and devouring my croissants I check my email and theres one from Bob.
Now let me tell you how I met Bob. I met Bob via the internet. My Mother always warned me about meeting strange men on the internet, but I’m sure she’d make an exception in Bob’s case as I’m sure he is not out to “groom” me
A few days ago I was following the rumours of Juan Pablo Angels transfer from Aston Villa to the New York Red Bulls. Whilst doing so I stumbled upon some of the Blogs regarding this transfer on the “Offside” and after reading the blogs I took a closer look at the site. Now the first thing I noticed, being a Villa fan, that there was no Villa section. Now they had the big 4, Man u, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, which was pretty much normal, Spurs which was vaguely understandable, and Bolton….. which I though odd. I emailed Bob asking why there was no Villa section but a Bolton section (no offence to Bolton fans, but Bolton are not really the most internationally renowned footballing teams). Bob informed me that no one was writing for Villa and invited me to make a Villa bog for the Offside.
The email from Bob this morning was to give me the details to log on and write a blog…..
……So here it is. UP THE VILLA!

Welcome to the ‘Offside.’ The way you describe Birmingham you must be from England… and there aren’t many of us…. here!!!
“The concrete Jungle that is Birmingham City Centre is as busy as ever with its diversity of people, all going about their Daily business.”
Not unlike London then!!!

Welcome! It’s nice to see the Premiership community growing on The Offside. Maybe one day, you’ll be as big as MLS.

Hi Guys.
Thanks for the comments, wow I didn’t expect so many so soon, especially as there is no Villa link up yet.
Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK, only London is bigger and as such it’s alike in many ways.
LOL @ Tom, maybe we will be as big as MLS one day

Ah yes, the final leaving of Deadly Doug has cheered up many a Villa fan. There are calls to have the Doug Ellis stand renamed back to the Witton Lane Stand and I for one support that.
