Three of those articles mention that Villa “took four points off Chelsea”. One was a direct quote from Curtis Davies, so that was fair enough, but you’d think that experienced journalists would be able to spot the error and fix it, since we took FIVE points off Chelsea last season.

Villa are, without question, the Kings of Spin and your might public relations brigade (who probably outweigh playing staff by 50:1) must be getting bored as, for the moment at least, there are few cracks that need papering over.
To the comment regarding the four/five point issue. To take points off relates to how many points a team gets against another team. Villa received four points from Chelsea, therefore took four points off them. It does not mean the number of points away from the maximum Chelsea were due to results against Villa.
As for Petrov…it’s about time he has started to play well, given his poor displays (and the tactical ineptitude of Martin O’Neill in selecting him) may have cost Villa fourth place last season. Well, not quite, but you get my point.

Strewth you’re grumpy.
Petrov is firing on all cylinders now and just need to add goals to his game to be one of the Prem’s best. Looks like MON aint as inept as you make out!
