I just don't think he's what we need. None of his strengths can be all that beneficial to us. He can hold the ball up excellently but we don't really have much need for that with Young and Milner getting the ball into the box already and he can set up goal poachers, but that is neither Gabby's or Carew's main attribute. I hope he does well wherever he goes but can't see how it's in his or our best interests for him to come to us. And quality depth, not Marlon Harewood depth. We all know Martin O'Neill and Heskey are BFFs, and this seems like another example of MO'N using the owner's wealth wisely. But as an England fan this makes me uncomfortable. Part of the reason Heskey was able to muscle his way back into England contention was through regular footy with Wigan. Seems that at Villa he wouldn't necessarily be first choice, and we've seen Heskey take a dip in confidence when not automatically first choice at Liverpool.
