Fabio, are you effing kidding me?!
By: Martini Extra Dry |No Ashley Young? No effing Ashley Young in your competitive England squad?! Am I watching a different sport to you or what? The guy is awesome. What more does he need to do to get recognition? Oh hang on… I know the answer to that question. It’s the same old story as every England manager, [...]
Nil-nil it was. Boring it wasn’t
By: Martini Extra Dry |It’s been over a year since Villa have drawn 0-0 and if you’d told anyone 2 years ago that the Masters Of The Draw would become not just exciting but would average more than 3 goals scored per game, they would’ve told you that it was more likely that England would fail to qualify for [...]
Villa vs Liverpool preview & predictons
By: Martini Extra Dry |The massive talking point in this game isn’t going to be on the pitch, it’ll be the Martin O’Neill (welterweight) vs Rafa Benitez (heavyweight) punch up on the sidelines! Rafa seems to have the weight advantage but my money’s on O’Neill, who is quick, agile and, judging by the occasional crazy look I’ve seen in [...]

Milner joins Villa
By: Martini Extra Dry |After much speculation of an imminent move, James Milner has now put pen to paper and officially joined Aston Villa. The deal was nearly done two years ago, after he spent a successful year on loan, but at the last minute the deal fell through and Milner returned to Newcastle.

By: Martini Extra Dry |Villa’s game is about to kick off aganst the Icelandic part-timers and we take a nice, comfortable 4-1 lead into the second leg of this UEFA Cup qualifier. I’ll reach for my laptop and post any goal (or major events) updates for those who don’t have Channel 5.
Villa starting line-up:
Barry’s staying and Milner’s coming back… haven’t we heard both these before?
By: Martini Extra Dry |Aston Villa’s Official website has today announced that Gareth Barry will definitely be staying with the club, at least until January. But hang on a minute, haven’t we been told that before? Only to be told a few days later that it wasn’t certain he would stay.
In a similar story of should-we-believe-it-or-not, the James Milner [...]
Normal service will be resumed shortly
By: Martini Extra Dry |Don’t worry Villa fans, the Stoke embarrassment wasn’t a sign of things to come this season, it was just a temporary glitch, a bump in the road, a minor hiccup. Stoke were fuelled by a newly-promoted, first-Premiership-display-to-the-home-fans excitement. Villa were having a very off day.
