The UEFA Cup draw is upon us
By: Martini Extra Dry |The draw for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup is to be held in Switzwerland today at midday (GMT). Villa secured a place in this draw with the win over Odense BK, which also made us the winners of the last ever Intertoto Cup.

By: Martini Extra Dry |After being released by Aston Villa at the end of last season, Thomas Sorensen has now signed a three year contract with Premiership new-comers Stoke City. Sorensen fell down the ladder at Villa not too long after Martin O’Neill’s arrival and was eventually allowed to leave when his contract expired a few months ago.
Apparently Barry is staying

By: Martini Extra Dry |Anyone who saw Saturday’s Intertoto victory over Odense BK, with Freddy Bouma’s foot at an angle that no-one’s foot should be at, will be concerned about the extent of his injury. The sickening image (published here for the concerned, the curious and the twisted amongst you!) even had his team mates turning away in horror.

Odense BK 2-2 Aston Villa
By: Martini Extra Dry |Poor is about the only word for tonight’s performance from Villa, who deserved to, and very nearly did, lose. Villa took the lead early on, but were soon level. Then after enduring a storm, took an undeserved lead, but finally got caught out with a minute to go, to finish the game 2 goals each.
